Job Duration – 6 Months (Could be Longer)

Hours — up to 36 to 40 Hours per week

Salary — £15 to £17 per hour (Depends on Experience)

We are recruiting FIVE qualified electricians on behalf of our client for six months to test domestic electrical installations across M25 / London area.

The position of electrical engineer (EICR) is to undertake electrical testing for electrical services in accordance with The Electricity at work regulations 1989, used by clients various sites within the UK to ensure that such services are safe to use and do not give rise to danger. This role may require overnight, weekend and out of our working, traveling to and from sites, liaising with customers representatives on site, organizing the work programme to ensure that the works are carried out to the required specification, programme and that reports are filed in the Cambridge office within seven days of the works completion.

Key areas of responsibility:-

  • To carryout testing of the on- site electrical installation as per the companies method statement for periodic inspections.
  • Responsible for the health & Safety of yourself and others at all times. Carry out all work in accordance with H&S policy, method statements, risk assessments, policies and procedures. Comply with all clients on site rules or regulations.
  • Carry out dynamic on site risk assessments for every job and act upon findings. Report to supervisory staff any risks encountered for advice.
  • Carry out works on site efficiently to meet productivity targets. Where any hindrance of efficient work or client directs instructions given, contact supervisor for help/advice.
  • Ensure correct qualifications and competences are held for all tasks issued If unsure contact supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure your company vehicle is kept clean, undamaged and secure at all times. Any damage must be reported to a supervisor immediately. Check your vehicle and equipment is in good condition, roadworthy, taxed , MOT’’d calibrated etc as applicable and reports any deficiencies to your supervisor.
  • Carry out work to the highest possible standard.
  • Ensue all paperwork is completed legibly and complete. Return all paperwork / reports in good time to arrive in the office within 7 days of completion of work on site.

Qualifications & Experience

  • C&G 2391 or equivalent
  • C&G 2382,C&G 236 parts 1+2 (preferable but not essential)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an electrician preferred.
  • 5 GCSE/O Level passes including Maths & English/ or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of EAWR and Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • High quality of work and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivator with ability to achieve good productivity levels consistently
  • Good communication skills
