Forklift Driver – Key Responsibilities

• • Safely operate forklifts to move, lift, and stack materials in warehouses and distribution centers across Leeds• Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure all safety features are functioning properly before each shift• Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles with precision and care to prevent damage to products• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are stored in designated locations according to warehouse layout

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and supervisors regarding material movements and any equipment issues

  • Operate forklifts at appropriate speeds and navigate busy warehouse aisles while maintaining situational awareness

  • Stack materials to maximum safe heights while ensuring stability and preventing product damage

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to reduce accident risks and improve efficiency

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors immediately

  • Wear required personal protective equipment including hard hats, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility vests at all times

  • Assist with cycle counting and physical inventory checks as requested by management

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily productivity targets and shipping deadlines

  • Respond to emergency situations calmly and follow all emergency procedures established by the warehouse

  • Maintain valid forklift certification and complete refresher training courses as required by employers
