We are seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join our team on a residential and commercial project in West End, London, W1. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in laying bricks, blocks, and stone with precision and skill, ensuring all work meets building regulations and quality standards.

You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, preparing mortar, maintaining work areas, and collaborating with other trades on site. Bricklayer – Key Responsibilities

• • Laying bricks, blocks, and stones to build walls, arches, and other structures on residential and commercial properties throughout West End• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications to ensure accurate placement and alignment of brickwork• Mixing mortar to the correct consistency and applying it between bricks using trowels and other tools• Checking plumb, level, and line to maintain structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of completed work• Preparing surfaces and removing old mortar during renovation and restoration projects common in historic West End properties

  • Working with various materials including London stock bricks, natural stone, and decorative brickwork

  • Operating power tools and equipment safely while adhering to strict health and safety regulations

  • Maintaining scaffolding and working at heights, often on multi-story buildings in central London locations

  • Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards meet building regulations and client expectations

  • Communicating with architects, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate work schedules and resolve issues

  • Keeping work areas clean and organized while managing waste materials responsibly

  • Repairing and maintaining existing brickwork on period properties typical of West End developments

  • Calculating material quantities and costs for project estimation

  • Following sustainable practices and environmental guidelines required in West End conservation areas

  • Adapting to weather conditions and adjusting work schedules accordingly in London's climate
