Picker/Packer – Key Responsibilities

• • Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves and storage areas according to order lists and system instructions• Verify picked items match the order requirements before packing to ensure accuracy and quality control• Pack items into appropriate containers, boxes, or crates using proper packing materials and techniques

  • Label packages clearly with shipping addresses, barcodes, and handling instructions

  • Organize and arrange packed items for loading onto delivery vehicles or containers

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas within the warehouse or dock facility

  • Follow health and safety regulations and proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, trolleys, and scanning devices

  • Keep accurate records and documentation of picked and packed items

  • Coordinate with other team members to meet daily shipping deadlines and targets

  • Monitor inventory levels and report stock discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors

  • Sort items by destination, delivery route, or customer requirements for efficient dispatch

  • Load and unload cargo from trucks and vessels at the dock area

  • Perform regular checks on packaging to ensure items are secure and protected during transit

  • Respond promptly to supervisor instructions and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift

  • Maintain compliance with port regulations and security procedures specific to Tilbury Docks
