Key Responsibilities
- Laying bricks, blocks, and stone to construct walls, partitions, and other structures to exact specifications
- Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and site instructions accurately
- Mixing mortar to the correct consistency and applying it to ensure durable, plumb, and level work
- Carrying out cut brickwork, arches, and decorative stonework on residential and commercial builds
- Adhering strictly to all on-site health & safety regulations and HSE construction standards
- Working collaboratively with site managers, labourers, and other trades to meet project deadlines
- Carrying out quality checks on completed masonry work and rectifying any defects promptly
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craftsperson level)
- NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying or equivalent City & Guilds qualification
- Minimum 2 years of proven, verifiable on-site bricklaying experience in the UK
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, materials, and modern construction methods
- Ability to work at pace without compromising on quality or safety standards
- Own hand tools (power tools and scaffolding typically provided by the contractor)
- Right to work in the United Kingdom (documentation required upon registration)
