Role Overview: What You'll Be Doing
As Site Manager, you will hold full operational responsibility for day-to-day delivery across your allocated section of the HS2 works in Birmingham B40. You'll report directly to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager and lead a multi-disciplinary site team comprising subcontractors, directly employed operatives, and specialist packages. Your decisions shape programme, quality, safety performance, and community relations on a project of national significance.
Key Responsibilities

- βΈ Implement and enforce rigorous Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) standards in line with HS2's Principal Contractor Requirements and CDM 2015 Regulations

- βΈ Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the Project Manager, identifying risks and recovery actions proactively
- βΈ Coordinate Network Rail possessions, line blockades, and live rail interface management where applicable, adhering to all Railway Group Standards (RGS)
- βΈ Liaise with HS2's Client Representative, utility providers, Birmingham City Council, and community stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve interface issues
- βΈ Oversee site logistics, plant scheduling, material deliveries, and traffic management plans across a constrained urban worksite
